This week sees the first of my TLE talks… series where I’ll be chatting to lots of interesting people and bringing you all the details here on the blog. There will be interviews with designers, makers, bloggers and entrepreneurs, in particular women and mums. I’ll be finding out how they started up, what inspires them, running a business while parenting, and lots more. Plus of course getting some top tips from their expert areas; anything from fashion and beauty to lifestyle and travel.
First up I’ve chatted to the lovely Thaarani from Tee-clutter blog. Her sleek and simple style feels refreshingly achievable. The name Tee-clutter is derived from the word de-clutter and has a big focus on keeping your style and your life simple and easy. Her Instagram (@teeclutter) is littered with cute outfit of the day pics, which always look effortlessly cool and often involve converse, which I love; essential comfy footwear for busy mums and errand runners everywhere!
Here’s what she had to say when I asked her about launching and running her blog and a few of her top tips.
What was your career background before starting your blog?
I used to work in retail, mainly head office buying but also worked in stores around clothes too.
How have you juggled writing the blog with looking after your son?
I started just over 3 years ago and found it quite hard at first as my son was a lot younger. I fitted in around his nap times and now around school times.
Your blog has a big focus on keeping things simple. What are your 5 wardrobe staples that you could’t live without?
Where do you look for your style inspiration?
Pinterest plays a big part when I look for inspiration, I include street style images a lot on my blog.
You use jewellery a lot to accessorise your look, which of course I love! What are your 3 top picks from The Lovely Edit that would be the perfect accessories for one of your signature outfits?
I love jewellery and I think it can make your outfit complete sometimes. My top 3 picks would be the Lisa Angel Layered Bracelet in Plum and Rose Gold, the One & Eight Porcelain Dipped Gold necklace and the Orelia Stone and Ribbon Earrings which would look great with a basic t-shirt.
Finally, if you could buy just one item to update your wardrobe this season what would it be?
Hmmm, it’s not clothing but shoes. I have been eyeing up these boots for a while now, it’s the SNAIL lace ankle boots by Carvela Kurt Geiger. I think they will work well going into the transitional season, especially with dresses.
A big thank you to Thaarani for chatting to me. You can have a look at her blog Tee-clutter and follow her on Instagram (@teeclutter) to keep up to date. Images above are from tee-clutter instagram and blog, The Lovely Edit, and the final image is taken from Kurt Geiger. Click images for links.
